Giving is an innate characteristic of those who believe in the power of God. We give because God has given the greatest gift to us in His son.

? Meditate on these verses with this prayer:

Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker,  but he who is generous to the needy honors him. Proverbs 14:31 ESV

How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help? 1 John 3:17 NRSV

Sodom’s sins were pride, gluttony, and laziness, while the poor and needy suffered outside her door. Ezekiel 16:49 NLT

“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’   “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Matthew 25:45-46 NIV

‘Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”’ Luke 6:38
